My Aunty booked ice skating for me and my little cousins at Somerset House! I managed to last the whole 45 minutes without falling over, although I wouldn't say I was very graceful. Every year the enormous christmas tree next to the rink is decorated by a different designer and this years was done by the swanky London department store Fortnum and Mason. I felt like I was in Love Actually! That afternoon we wandered to Covent Garden and stumbled across the 'Bond in Motion' exhibition at the Museum of Film. We saw vehicles from almost all of the Bond films including my personal favourite, the Aston Martin DB5 from Skyfall. The Aston Martins from both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were almost completely destroyed. They were covered in bullet holes and had the windscreens smashed in and one was even missing a door! As an enormous Bond fan, this was one of my favourite things we did on our jaunt around London.
Day 5:
Our first very cold day in London, we rugged up and hopped on the bus to Kensington and Knightsbridge. We admired the beautiful christmas window displays in Harrods and popped in for some lunch at the Tom Dixon sandwich bar. I had my first Welsh Rarebit (not rabbit!) and it was deee-licious! We wandered around Harrod's gawking at the pricetags, I managed to find a 35000 pound television! Harvey Nichols had some dazzling christmas windows on display and Sophia Webster shoes scattered throughout the store. My mum had to drag me away!
Day 6:
Only the best shopping, on New Bond St of course! Cartier and Tiffany's looked exquisite. If we had been there 24 hours earlier we would have seen all the Victorias Secret models posing out the front of the store! The show was being filmed in London in Earls Court on the day that we went to the store. I especially loved all the costumes on display in the windows from previous shows. We finished off the day having a cocktail and the most incredible cheese board in my favourite building in the whole of London: St Pancras Hotel.
Part 3 coming soon!
